I love networking and am passionate about women helping other women. There are so many wonderful women in Austin with small businesses! Why not share resources and promote one another?
Here is a list of the fabulous women I know and the businesses I love to support. I am always looking for service providers for myself, so if you want to share resources with me … just send me an email.
WILDCRAFTED HERBAL REMEDIES
La Abeja Herbs
Sophia is a medicine woman, herbalist and folk healer. Her apothecary offers natural tonics, oils and balms, as well as New and Full Moon ceremonies, flower essence sessions, herbal consultations and medicinal plant walks around Austin. The El Milagro salve is … well … un milagro. A few drops of the Kava oil massaged into the back of the neck at night makes for a beautiful night’s sleep, too.
HANDCRAFTED SOAPS, BODY BUTTERS AND ROOM SPRAY
Saint Selkie Co.
I am convinced that every woman on earth needs to have the Coastal room spray in her life. My clients will recognize the products from the ROOTS ladies room. Plant-based and made with the highest quality oils and botanical ingredients, so they are perfect for sensitive skin, like mine.
TEXTILES, WEARABLE ART
Mercedez Rex Functional Fibers
Mercedez is one of those people who just exudes style – people always want to own everything she wears. Luckily she makes beautiful hand-dyed tops, bandanas and travel blankets (these are spectacular) so you CAN get a little piece of that style. That throw you’ve been admiring on my couch? That’s her.
C Relic Jewelry
Jessica’s necklaces always draw everyone in.. they are just funky and cool! She has been all over the world, including Italy to study silver-smithing, and I think she puts a little bit of all of that worldliness into each piece of jewelry. The rifle necklace gets a lot of attention here in Texas.
INTUITIVE TAROT READER
Miss Melinda’s Metaphysical Services
If you find yourself in a challenging situation, Miss Melinda can help you find clarity. First her demeanor is incredibly soothing. Second she can make sense of all of the clues the universe is throwing at you. Third she’s a professional witch. What’s not to love?
FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE NUTRITIONIST
If you feel like your body is not functioning optimally, your diet might need some adjusting. If you are confused as to how to go about making sense of all of the information available, partner with Brenda. She helps clients with metabolic disorders, autoimmunity and hormonal imbalances, as well as healthy people just looking for more energy.
Tune My Biofield
We all have a biomagnetic field that is beyond our skin but a part of us. We often hold trauma and detrimental energy in this field, but a tuning can help us to feel more in balance with our naturally preferred resonance. Working with Shannon made me feel more harmonious within myself and supported me in letting go of some old “noise” that was no longer serving me.
REAL ESTATE AGENT
Jules Adams Lambert
Juice Real Estate Co., Managing Broker, ABR, CNE, GRI
If buying or selling a home seems intimidating, you need Jules. She is warm and approachable and takes the time to educate her clients on the buying and selling process, plus she is incredibly thorough. If you already understand the process, but are just looking for an agent, you still need Jules. She has great instincts, is a thoughtful negotiator and will give you the personal attention you are looking for.
Law Offices of Ruth Russell Schafer, Of Counsel to Brin & Brin, PC
I don’t wish divorce on anyone, but if it happens to you, Ruth can help. She’s been practicing family law for over 35 years and practices probate, landlord tenant law and contracts, in addition to divorce and child custody. She is also the savviest business-lady I know, so she is great to have in your corner during a crisis.
Erin’s arrangements all have vibrant personalities and they draw a lot of attention. The plants she chooses are so unique! I worked in a restaurant with her arrangements for almost two years, and guests asked me on a daily basis to tell them the names of the plants and the stories behind the gorgeous flowers. She always managed to create the perfect complement to the space and the vibe.
Most of you know I am a workout junkie – I’ve done most of the group workouts offered in South Austin. Marnie’s barre studio offers hands down the hardest workout (if you haven’t tried barre, try it – I didn’t believe it either); every class makes me sore SOMEWHERE for two days. However, Marnie and her instructors are so encouraging and kind that they manage to make it fun.
If you are looking for an inspirational image to hang over your work space, chances are Christina’s photographed it for you. Fitting of a woman who has multiple passports, her website is the travel diary you wish you had. The New Zealand photos are my favorites. Portraits also available.
My bias is that I love to support my fellow sister practitioners, artists and service providers, particularly those that work for themselves like me. However, I have a few male service providers who are excellent and I want to include them here.
It’s hard to describe exactly what Ryan does, because it’s so interdisciplinary and all-encompassing. You might just have to visit the website to really get a sense of what he can offer you. What he has done for me: genetics analysis, functional medicine, autoimmune support. His consultation takes a couple of hours – he really works together with you to tease out the FULL picture of what is going on with you: lifestyle analysis, diet, genetics, methylation, hormonal imbalances, birth and other traumas…the ultimate self-discovery tour.
